Design:

SpeedZone offers two colors options on the SpeedZone clubhead in a preset loft of 9 or 10.5 degrees:

We reviewed the black with yellow color accents, and a glossy polished finish

Black color with white accents. Matte finish.

We tested the 10.5 preset loft club. The club offers 8 launch options with the MyFly hosel adjuster: 10.5 standard; 10.5 draw; 11.5 standard; 11.5 standard and 11.5 draw. There are also 12.0 standard (9.5 standard), 9.0 standard, 9.5 Standard, 9.5 Standard, and 9.5 Draw. I tested out various settings, but found the standard 10.5 setting to be the preferred setting. It is great to be able quickly change the settings on the course.

SpeedZone, like other Cobra King drivers has two adjustable weights. This allows the player to choose their launch angle. Preset weights include a 14g forward weight and a 2-g back weight, but these weights can easily be changed. There was a significant difference in the increase launch angle when the 14g weight was moved to the rear setting. I still prefer the preset weighting because it allows for a higher launch angle and longer distance. The club should have additional weights available that can be added to it. The weights of the SpeedZone 2020 driver are not compatible with the Cobra King Speedback’s 2019 driver. Cobra King will sell any extra weights at $25 each. From a technical perspective, many features are designed to give the ball more club head speed. Most notable, but also my favourite feature of the Milled Infinity Club Face wraps around the whole face. The milled infinity club face wraps around the entire face of the club to raise the face area by 95% and increase the sweet spot. It protects the club in case of miss-hits, which can be too high or low to the ball.

Finally, the club provides various stock shaft options, ranging from Extra Stiff to Lite from four different manufacturers. These options allow golfers many ways to pick the shaft that suits their needs.

Arnold Palmer said it best: “Golf, a game of inches.” “The 6 inches between you and your ears” are what is most significant. This means that a golf club should give you mental confidence so that you are able to hit the fairway with ease. Cobra King SpeedZone has confidence in its weight, design, and feel. I like the feel and look of this club. Additionally, the King Cobra logo located above the sweet spot helps me approach the ball with confidence and get the club to my side.

Cobra Golf King Speedzone Driver – First Impressions Review

COBRA Golf KING SPEDZONE was one driver that I was looking forward to using in 2020. In October, I first saw the driver in person at an Ontario industry event in Kitchener. The driver’s cosmetics made me salivate. Was it up to my expectations or not?

At the 2020 PGA Show Orlando, Florida that was a question which I would have responded to. Based on my first impressions of the COBRA Golf King SpeedzONE driver at Demo Day at Orange County National Golf Resort & Lodge, here is my evaluation.

Two models of Set-Up COBRA KING SPEEDZONE XTREME (SZ), drivers are available for golfers who want to upgrade their drivers. COBRA Golf is offering both a “standard” KING SPEEDZONE and a KING SPEEDZONE XTREME. Although they share the same chassis, the drivers will have their own unique configurations. Let’s take a look at some similarities between the models before we examine all of their differences.

COBRA Golf says that their king speedone drivers are the best and longest drivers they’ve ever made. These drivers take inspiration from motorsports and look great sitting still. You can easily see the inspiration in their dual exhausts at the rear. CNC-milled, the KING Z drivers have a face similar to what we first saw with 2018’s KINGF8. Just that, this face also has a twist.

Infinity Face, one of many technologies we find in the KING SZ. In utilizing Infinity Face. This allows the face to see an extended sweet zone as well as more ball speed on the entire face surface.

Introduced this year is the “T-Bar Chassis.” The T-Bar Chassis is a section of the interior part that runs from the leading edge all of the way to the trailing edge. This cross-member COBRA Golf R&D was able to make a stronger frame that improved feel and durability for the KING SZ driver.

Are you drawn to the appearance of carbon fiber? If you like the look of carbon fiber, KING SZ drivers may be just right for you. The KING SZ features a “360 Carbon Wrap”. 360 Carbon Wrap covers half of the body. COBRA Golf has been able to shift 25 grams of its discretionary weight using carbon fiber. This design feat of luxury is unheard of in golf clubs. By moving the weight around to other areas of the KING SZ drivers, this enabled engineers to create a driver with forgiveness to burn.

Are The Cobra Speedzone Good for Driving?

Cobra appears to have achieved its goal of having a CNC-milled face. This gives the driver of the KING SPEEDSONE a remarkable balance between power and consistency. I am sure this driver will be a hit with my customers because of its appealing looks and adjustable capabilities.

It also has a very gentle feel. That extra mass can be felt back and down in the clubhead. You can feel the driver’s stability even when the ball isn’t in the centre of the head. The Cobra Speedzone driver will be loved by all with sound and feel like this.
