Taylormade Driver M2 Review 2021

TaylorMade M2 Driver reviews will show you the pros and cons of this model so that you are able to decide for yourself if this is the right one.

Geocoustic Technology that was introduced on the TaylorMade M2 Driver which changed the way the sole looks and it also changed the sound and the feel. TaylorMade describes this Driver as having an explosive sound. (they aren’t kidding!)

The Center of Gravity is fixed and positioned low and back for maximum performance and forgiveness.

The M2Driver has some adjustability, but it isn’t as good as older models.

This club includes the Speed Pocket technology. It was also made more deep to increase forgiveness for this Taylor M2 driver.

The M2 Taylormade Driver golf club is great, but we’ll break it down to help you make the best decision.

Player Handicap

Although it doesn’t mean that scratch golfers can’t make use of the M2, it was specifically designed to help those golfers that seek forgiveness rather than playability.

You may not want this driver if your goal is to make the ball work and draw off each tee. This Taylormade M2 driver is ideal for those with a mid or high handicap.

The TaylorMade M2 is the only TaylorMade option that comes with an adjustable loft sleeve.

TaylorMade used to make other clubs that let you move the center.

It is great to be able to adjust the loft of the M2 to get it ready for launch. You can adjust the loft to help you perform better if you’re a beginner.

Our Driver Review mentioned previously that the M2 driver was a bit old. TaylorMade still offers the M2 driver, but there are limited custom shaft options.

There are many shaft options available, and the good news is that they’re all good. You get the Fujikura Pro XL 58 standard in this club, available in Regular, Senior Flex or Stiff.

There are other options

TaylorMade Ma6 TaylorMade’s M6 Driver is shorter than the M2. It’s almost as easy-going and about half the price of the M2.

The M2 will make a TaylorMade Burner Driver feel lighter and more comfortable if it is older than a few years.

The M6 is a great option if you don’t have the budget for the best technology. The sound is also a little better with the M6 model.

View the Cleveland Launcher Turbo Price Check

The Cleveland Launcher Turbo is a much newer release than the M2 and is a similar option as far as distance and forgiveness are concerned.

Launch Turbo is also available at a comparable price.

Launcher may be considered a more beginner-oriented club than M2, but it is an option worth looking at.

Sound & Feel

The TaylorMade drivers are distinguished by their adjustability. You can read my 2017 M1 comparison here. There is a difference between the two. The M2 feels more solid. The M2 has a slightly different feeling, yet it is equally impressive. The M2 is responsive and powerful, but it feels soft on the ball. Choosing between the two will come down to personal preferences.

Similar to the sound, the M2 has a more distinct sound. While it lacks that classic driving range sound, M2 has more pop. This results in a shot off the head sound that is solidly hit down range.

Not to just spit back copy from the manufacturer, but I found this blurb directly from TaylorMade regarding the M2’s sound both interesting and impressive:

A new sunken sole curve made it stronger and better able to withstand vibrations from impact. With this added stiffness, minimal externalized sound ribs were needed to create best-in-class sound and feel of the M2.

Taylormade M2 Driver: An Honest Review

Taylormade clubs weren’t my first love, but I was a huge fan when M series cars were released. Here’s a review of the Taylormade driver M2 and a discussion about its worthiness.

I liked the M2 driver a lot more than the M1 because I found it much easier to hit. In my opinion, it’s a great driver for golfers who need a lot of help with distance and forgiveness. The club gave me a great distance and was much more patient than other drivers on off-center hits. The one problem I saw was the price. This is for an older driver. The driver would work well for the average recreational player.

If I could choose, I’d invest a little more in a driver that is slightly older. Even though the M2 was great, there are a few drivers that are still priced pretty similar that performed better for me (and I think you’d like them more).

Most players love the TaylorMade M2 Driver Review because it is so simple. Only adjustable features are the twelve settings in the TaylorMade M2 driver review. Many players desire the best result, but they don’t want to spend too much time fiddling with the equipment. Recent experience has shown that the M2 driver performs admirably. There is plenty of high-end engineering that is involved in M2 even if the product appears simple. The M2 is a rugged, tough product that was launched shortly after it was released.

This model has significant improvements regarding ball speed and overall distance. The 2017 M1 is more patient and forgiving than the 2016 M2, which was widely praised for its superior forgiveness. Although it has made great strides in the past few years, it still falls short of the M2.

The M2 has been preferred by most professional golfers. Many amateur golfers use the M2 driver to help them hit natural fades.

TaylorMade 2017 M2 Driver driver is up for review. I discuss the benefits and drawbacks of this driver.

Is The Taylormade M2 Driver Any Good?

For those that tend to leak drives, or hit the wrong button on the M2 D-Type, the sound and feel of the M2 D Type is good. Overall then the 2017 M2 driver is an improvement on the previous version and, for around the same price difference of PS110, offers you the looks and performance of an M1 for less.Dec 9, 2016

What is the Taylormade M2 driver good for beginners?

The TaylorMade M2 is now just cheaper to buy. Its balance of value, power and forgiveness has pushed it into fifth place. This driver is intended for an experienced beginner with a tendency to a low 20 handicap. The driver is very easy to handle, and it has a more direct ball flight than other drivers in this review.

Do Any Pros Use M2 Driver?

As previously stated, the 2017 TaylorMade M2 was widely adopted on tour by Garcia, Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose (who later switched the M1), Jon Rahm, Paul Casey, Francesco Molinari, Xander Schauffele, Matt Fitzpatrick and Ross Fisher – and that’s just players in the world’s top 50.Dec 19, 2017
