Seattle is one of the most famous cities in the States, as the birthplace of Starbucks, grunge music and retail giant Amazon, but its residents’ cost of living soars at 49 percent higher than the national average.
It is clear that Seattle and Washington are costly places to live.
Aldi to Seattle, Washington State 2022
Aldi currently has no plans for opening stores in Seattle or Washington State. German supermarket chain Aldi has plans to increase its presence in American Southwest and Gulf Coast. Additionally, it will funnel funds towards store refurbishments in Northeast.
Aldi isn’t coming to Seattle or Washington State!
Aldi currently has their headquarters in the American Southwest, where they just opened their fourth Arizona store. However, their focus is on the Gulf Coast and Florida.
Aldi is also building a new distribution centre in Loxley to help facilitate goods movement throughout the Gulf Coast. This is in conjunction with Aldi entering its 38th state in the U.S., Louisiana.
A series of remodels have been undertaken at the store, which has updated interiors and laid out new layouts in various locations throughout Northeast.
Aldi may choose to focus on the Gulf Coast than a state such as Washington with its major hub, Seattle. At this point, it could have to do with the population density.
It would surprise me if Aldi didn’t consider this when planning for expansion.

If Aldi wants to visit Washington, there are many cities they can choose from that will welcome them.

The residents of Washington state are really out of luck when it comes to shopping at Aldi; the closest one is in Clovis, CA and it is about 750 miles away. Ouch.
Washington State: Shoppers Need to Know Where To Find Groceries Other Than Aldi
Washingtonians do have options when it comes to finding similar groceries, regardless of the cost of living here.
Trader Joe’s, a distant relative, has 18 shops in Washington. They are located from Olympia to Seattle to Spokane.
WinCo Foods shops, which are owned by employees and offer low grocery prices, can be found throughout the state.
Grocery Outlet is an excellent option for those looking to save money on food, as it offers discontinued or close-to-expiration items at reduced prices.
